Last night I spent some time on Pinterest after my movie ended and before going to bed. One of the posts I saw caught my attention. I wanted to react, but I would have only been addressing the person who posted it rather than the person who said it. (I should have written down the name of the man being quoted bc I can't find it again rn)
The quote basically warned against Churches talking too much about Unity as being a source of False Teaching. I seriously couldn't fathom this idea as being even remotely Biblical considering how many references The Bible has to this very subject. The only conclusion I could come to was that this man was concerned about Christians being united by accepting differences in either Theology, Dogma, Ethnicity, Politics, Social Status/background, gender, and/or Sexual Preferences. He is clearly blind to the facts blatantly obvious throughout The Bible concerning diversity. To begin with, Noah's 3 sons covered all 3 major Ethnic Groups (indicating more than 1 wife, btw). Then we have Moses marrying an Ethiopian woman. Rahab is one of only 2 women mentioned in the lineage of Jesus. The Disciples were from different backgrounds and had different personalities in order to reach specific groups of people/individuals. It was the women first mentioned as going to the Empty Tomb. Paul was a Roman Zealot... and finally, we have the Great Commission, which literally commands us as Christians to "Go into ALL THE WORLD..."
This doesn't suggest anyone not be included based on literally anything!!
The only other concern I can see this man having is that of a Church being too "Woke" to still be considered Biblical. And if you've been reading a while, you know what a stickler I am for context. (and if you haven't, you know now) That being said, I didn't actually click in to see if there was anything more than the image as posted. I may have an update once I explore it further.
