If you haven't read this yet, YOU NEED TO!! Either read the original, reread it, or see the movie first, but then, this book is no less than a mandatory follow up!! I'm only about half way through it myself, and it's already changed my perception of the Trinity. I don't like spoilers myself, so I'll let you find out for yourselves... I mean, the original story gives an amazing depiction, but this book digs into the deeper Theology at work throughout the story.
I've actually owned this book for a few years and just getting around to reading it. Truly amazing how God works out timing for different things to coordinate with our lives, isn't it?? It's another example of God meeting us where we're at. He may get our attention through Facebook if that's a major thing in our lives. (it is in mine) Or He may bring books around at times when we really need some integral message they bring. Several years ago, one of John Irving's books spoke to what I needed at the time. It was "A Prayer for Owen Meany". There's a conversation toward the end that really caught me in relation to my life at that time. More recently, it's uncanny how the show "Lucifer" has been aiding in Godly perspectives; both in general and in specific points. An unlikely source, to be sure; but as we all like to say, "God works in mysterious ways!!" And the thing is, He sometimes He does and He sometimes He doesn't. It really all comes down to acting in love... God Bless!!
